St. Mary’s Hospital in Amsterdam has recognized Stewart's Shops as 2015 Corporation of the Year at its 20th annual Celebration of Healthcare Excellence on February 1. Al Turo, Vice President of Planning and Development for St. Mary’s, calls an early pledge of $250,000 to the hospitals “Excellence and Compassion” Campaign to build a new outpatient pavilion, a catalyst for much of the high-level fundraising done for the remainder of the campaign. This event was established in 1996 as “a community expression of appreciation for bringing healthcare of compassion and excellence to the people of Fulton and Montgomery counties.”
This award follows recent recognition by the Fulton-Montgomery Regional Chamber of Commerce for positive contribution to economic growth.
Stewart’s Shops and related family foundations support local charities, donation $7.5 million annually.
